Learning to be Caleb and not grasshopper :)

Hey guys,
Thanks God that we always have someone who we can model after and stand strong throughout our struggles.

Caleb indeed displayed 2 great attitudes that we should learn;

(1) Caleb has faith that sees beyond the challenges

- In life we have many GIANTS that seems to outnumbered us; many a time our response
would be rather negative; as a result we complaint and "grasshopper" thoughts and voices
appear.
- However, Caleb display a different attitudes that we can learn on; firstly he was not beaten
down by the sheer size of the giants in the land; instead he quieted the people who were
mumuring and complaining; and CHALLENGE them to GO and TAKE posession of the land.
Not onlt that, he trusted His Lord that He will lead him to conquer the giants and posses the
land.

(2) Caleb has the courage to stand alone with God

- In life when struggles like exam, disappointments, rejection and even parental objection may
cause us to lose heart and timid in facing it.
- Nevertheless, Caleb display a great level of courage to stand with God even people may
opposed him; and firmly desire to do the will of God. Not only that, he also motivate the people
to go up and possess the land that God has promised.

Today, God still has great promises for each of us; but what is our attitude today? Are we like caleb or more like a grasshopper? Whatever it may be, check your heart and response to the following question:

(A) Between these two attitudes that Caleb possess; which is God challenging you to learn and
build into your life?

(B) For each attitudes above, share one practical situation you are facing that yu need to build in
order to be different in overcoming your giants in your life.

(C) Response by: 15/10/2008 (Before 11.59pm)

What you see is what you can be

My beloved cell mates, life can be as boring and aimless if we do not know what we want in life. What do you think you and me would be in maybe 5 to 10 years times? How do you see yourself in the Kingdom of the Lord?

According to John C Maxwell there are 4 Vision levels of people:

(1) Some people never see it. (They are wanderers.)

(2) Some people see it but never pursue it on their own. (They are followers.)

(3) Some people see it and pursue it. (They are acheivers.)

(4) Some people se it and pursue it and help others see it. (They are leaders.)

Share:
(A) From the above, which vision of level(s) do you belong to?
(B) What would you do see yourself move from the current level to the highest level?

Enjoy your sharing,
Benjamin Chew
